Sneak Peek at 2025

Providing Infrastructure for and Introducing Personalized AI

As we hinted at in our 2024 year-end recap, Mantis is going to ramp up its role as an execution engine for AI agents. Our vision is for intelligent intents to become how AI interacts on the blockchain. We believe that, in the future, all users will have personalized AI agents with which they operate on-chain.

Mantis was designed with optimal execution for AI in mind. Specifically, we believe that intents are the path towards enabling personalized AI. The Mantis protocol provide high-throughput, cross-chain infrastructure for optimally executing transactions. All AI agents need to do is hook up to the Mantis Intents SDK and send intents. The Mantis solver network takes care of the rest, creating and executing upon the best solutions to these intents. AI agents using Mantis thus benefit from best execution, MEV protections, cross-chain capabilities, and automated gas handling.

Lady Mantis, Mantis’s flagship AI trading agent, demonstrates the utility for AI agents on Mantis. Lady Mantis uses the Mantis protocol to execute trades, specializing in memecoins on Solana. She uses community polling to determine trades, evolving based on community participation.

In the future, we want everyone to have their own, customized AI agent like Lady Mantis. We envision personalized AI to encompass features beyond basic swaps and bridging to include advanced capabilities like:

• Conditional intents: These intents let you express preferences over state transitions within a single domain or across multiple domains. Conditions can be simple limit orders with price restrictions, or more complex such as selling a token only when it has achieved a certain percentage growth.

• “Set it and forget it”: You input your preferences once (unless you choose to alter them in the future), and then the AI handles everything else from there to carry out transactions meeting your preferences.

This will empower users to simply tell their AI agent on the Mantis app what they want done, without having to worry about how it is done or needing to make it happen themselves. These AI agents will learn from each specific individual’s preferences and portfolios as well as general market information in order to provide users with the exact experience they want. Ultimately, personalized AI will be a key long-term focus of Mantis.

The Role of Picasso

Cross-chain interoperability facilitates the chain abstraction on Mantis. This is a major factor enabling Mantis to provide such a streamlined user experience. The cross-chain capability of Mantis allows users to input intents without needing to worry about what chain their assets are on or how to move them between these ecosystems.

Cross-chain interoperability on Mantis is powered by the Picasso Network. Like Mantis, Picasso was created by the Composable Foundation with the goal of enhancing how users interact with crypto. Check out the complete history of Mantis and Picasso here.

Specifically, the Picasso Network has expanded upon Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) Protocol to provide trust-minimized bridging between not only Cosmos/the Interchain but also Solana, Ethereum, and Polkadot/Kusama. Both Picasso and Mantis believe that such trust-minimized bridging is the best approach to cross-chain operations, as it provides users with the greatest security. Thus, Picasso spent a few years of intense development providing this novel cross-chain infrastructure solution.

Via the IBC connections created by Picasso, Mantis is now able to deliver fast, secure cross-chain swapping and bridging between Solana and Ethereum. Picasso plans to add support for even more ecosystems in 2025, including IBC Bitcoin. These connections will be incorporated into Mantis, allowing operations between a greater number of chains.

In the coming months, it is incredibly important for us to increase the synergies between Picasso and Mantis. That is because Mantis is the core use case of Picasso, which in turn provides Mantis critical cross-chain capabilities. Thus, Picasso will have a greater integration in the Mantis ecosystem moving forward.

2025 Key Roadmap Items

Top priorities for Mantis in 2025 include:

• Enhancing the synergies between Picasso (and the PICA token) and Mantis to move towards a mutually beneficial future for both protocols as well as their users and stakeholders

• Developing Mantis into the go-to platform for intelligent agents
